Unique, hand-blown Bohemian spatter glass from northern Bohemia, produced circa 1940–1960. A beautiful Art Deco form with elegant, twisted lines and a vivid multicolor pattern, made according to the classic end-of-day technique in which hot glass is rolled through chips of colored glass.
The glass is entirely cadmium glass, which results in the intense red, orange, and yellow hues and the characteristic strong yellow-green UV fluorescence under UV light. This gives the object an exceptional visual effect. An unmistakable eyecatcher that can be presented as a decorative art object as well as — if desired — functionally used as a flower vase, although that is not necessary to experience its aesthetic value.
