Ennio Finzi began exhibiting in 1948 at the Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation in Venice, where in 1956 he held his first solo exhibition.
He participated, by invitation, in 1959 and 2000, in the Quadriennale di Roma and in 1986 in the 42nd Venice Biennale of Art.
It is worth noting, in addition to the 1980 retrospective at Bevilacqua La Masa in Venice, the exhibition at the Galleria d'Arte Moderna e Contemporanea of Palazzo Forti (Verona) and the one at the Galleria d'Arte Moderna Palazzo dei Diamanti (Ferrara). During 2002, a large retrospective titled Ennio Finzi, Venice and the Postwar Avant-Gardes was staged in Rome and Spoleto.
Another important solo exhibition was held during 2005 in Urbino, in the rooms of the Ducal Palace.
He has taught at the Academy of Venice.
