You are bidding on a very fine and rare antique 4/4 violin, labeled Francesco Ruggeri dett il Per in Cremona l' anno 1671.

The violin is in good condition with professionally repaired cracks on top, grafted scroll, new rosewood set up, Aubert bridge and Eudoxa strings.
The violin has an excellent high to medium grained spruce of the top and two pieces back of strongly flamed maple with matched neck. The sides and scroll of softly flamed maple. The typical rich italian varnish of golden brown color remains in good condition. The whole length of the violin is 592 mm and the back 356 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 164 mm; middle bouts: 110 mm; lower bouts: 199 mm. Full size.
