Total harmonic distortion: 0.03%
Dempingsfactor: 200
Input sensitivity: 165 mV (line)
Signal-to-noise ratio: 104 dB (line)
Dimensions: 435 x 130 x 385 mm.
My first test with this amplifier—what excellent sound quality from the NAD 317.
It offers a wide range of inputs; Tape 1 is also a monitor loop, giving your system virtually unlimited possibilities regarding the number of sources.
Controlling speakers from Bose, Revox, Mission, and Bowers & Wilkins went smoothly.
The amplifier's power reserves are impressive.
I'm certain that 80 watts per channel are heavily underestimated.
Compared with a Rotel 100-watt-per-channel amplifier from the same period, the NAD has tighter bass and more detail in the high frequencies. In short, the NAD did exactly what it was supposed to do and did it effortlessly.
