Description from the seller

Rare Baccarat crystal decanter - Model "Pompadour" (8447)
Splendid vintage carafe in light crystal, an authentic masterpiece of Baccarat's craftsmanship. The piece is cataloged under Forme 8447 with the iconic Gravure No. 8403, commercially known as the 'Pompadour' pattern.
Main Features:
Manufacture: Baccarat (France).
Model: Service Gravé, Form 8447.
Decoration: 'Pompadour' engraving (No. 8403), featuring a refined Greek key band 'looped' around the neck and body, enriched with elegant cascading floral garlands acid-etched.
Material: ultra-high-quality lightweight crystal, renowned for its transparency and crystal-clear sound.
Plug: the original cap matched to a diamond cut (diamond tip), perfectly matching.
Period: Early 20th century (circa 1900-1920).
Aesthetic Details:
The carafe features a slender, aristocratic line. The gravé (engraved) craftsmanship is millimetric in precision, typical of Baccarat's mastery of the era. The contrast between the purity of the crystal and the delicacy of the floral decoration makes this piece perfect both for use at a formal table and as a collectible item in a display cabinet.
Condition of Preservation
The piece is in excellent vintage condition. The crystal is clear, free of significant calcification or cloudiness. The decoration is intact and well defined.
It is a rare opportunity for collectors of French glass art to own a piece documented in the house's historic catalogs. The "Pompadour" line is one of the most sought-after for its timeless grace and its historical value.
Height with cap 32 cm
Height without cap: 25 cm.
