Product Description
Knockdhu, the first distillery built by DCL (Distillers Company Limited), began operations in 1894.
The plant closed in 1983 and five years later became the property of Inver House Distillers, a subsidiary of the Thai Pacific Spirits group since 2001. The single malt anCnoc debuted in 1993, and the brand currently sells 200,000 bottles annually. AnCnoc 1975 is the oldest official release of this whisky. It consists of distillates aged for 39 years in three European and American oak barrels. The whisky was bottled at cask strength (44.2% abv) in late 2014 in a limited edition of 1,590 bottles.
Aroma: Very rich, with a lot of dried fruit, almonds, toffee, vanilla, Christmas gingerbread, milk chocolate, cinnamon, bitter orange jam, and hints of sherry-soaked oak.
Flavor: Intense and complex, honey, toffee, candied lemon peel, prunes, roasted almonds, chocolate-covered cherries, hints of leather and cinnamon.
Finish: Long, fruity and spicy, raisins, prunes, a blend of spices, and oak combined with sherry.
