Bernhard Jäger (born 1935) is a significant German artist of the post-war period and is considered one of the leading figures in experimental printmaking of the 1960s and 1970s. As a co-founder of the artist group SPUR, he played a major role in the avant-garde movements of the time. Jäger's works combine expressive use of color with clear graphic lines and often include figurative, sometimes surreal elements. His works are part of numerous public and private collections and are regarded as important contributions to German contemporary graphics.
