Description from the seller

Rare Turkmen Tekke Kapunuk – door or tent entrance hanging with long, wrapped fringes. The U-shaped woven textile piece is executed in a firm and fine weave in the typical Turkmen style. The two side parts taper into arrow shapes. At the top, there are fixed hanging loops on both sides. On the two side flaps, there are 10 and 12 bundled warp threads wrapped with black and red wool. Each has two black tassels and one red end tassel (not all fully intact), each also adorned with a turquoise/blue bead nearly 14 mm in diameter. In the passage area, there are 35 bundled warp threads wrapped with black and red wool, decorated with red and black tassels and beads. This Kapunuk is very elaborately woven and decorated. One lower tassel is missing. In the middle section, a fringe is shortened, and in two fringes (one short and one long), the wrapping is damaged. It is very suitable as a room divider or to be used in a door frame.
Dimensions: total width approximately 122 cm, passage width approximately 78 cm, two side flaps approximately 23 cm wide and approximately 51 cm long, fringe length in the passage area approximately 30 to 32 cm, on the side up to 68 cm in length, the top cross stripe approximately 32 cm high. Total height with fringes approximately 118 to 120 cm. Weight 1.97 kg.
Shipping within Germany as a insured 5-kg package for €9, and to the EU for €21.
