Dési van Rhee

Early 20th-century sterling silver card/cigarette case by Stokes & Ireland Ltd, assayed in Chester and date-lettered for 1922. Rectangular model with gently curved lid and base, plain polished finish.

The rim shows clear British hallmarks: lion passant (sterling), Chester assay mark (shield with wheat sheaves and sword), date letter “W” (1922–23 cycle).
Weight 49 grams

The hinge opens and closes correctly. Interior fittings present.

Condition

Good antique condition with visible age and use wear. Surface scratching throughout consistent with handling and polishing. Two small dents are present on the body (see photos). No major deformation. Closure functions properly.
