Description from the seller

Round coffee table in Art Deco style
Estimated age: 1920s–1930s
Materials: Solid wood (probably walnut or mahogany) with decorative veneer on the top
Style: Art Deco
Origin: France or Europe
Historical significance: This type of table was popular in the 1920s and 1930s, a period of prosperity and cultural effervescence. Art Deco furniture is known for its clean geometric lines, the use of precious woods, and luxurious finishes. They symbolize modernism and the glamour of the era.
Restoration tips: Gently clean the wood with a mild product for antique furniture. For light scratches, use a mixture of linseed oil and lemon juice. If the finish is severely damaged or if the veneer is peeling, professional restoration involving light sanding and a new coat of varnish or wax will be necessary. Examine the circle on the top carefully to identify whether it is a wood imperfection or an old repair.
Fun facts: The top features a swirling veneer pattern, characteristic of the Art Deco style that emphasized organic and geometric motifs.
Fun facts: The round shape and curved legs are typical of coffee tables from this period, designed to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing in modern living rooms.
Fun facts: The Art Deco style was heavily influenced by archaeological discoveries in Egypt, as well as African art and exotic styles.
