An antique Directoire demi-lune sidetable dating from ca. 1775–1810, made in ebony with a semi-circular top and a three-legged base.
Description from the seller
Directoire sideboard on three legs with eagle head knobs tapering into cabriole feet.
Half-round top, halfway down the blackened legs another crescent-shaped top.
Under the massive mahogany top a "manchet" with three "diamond"-shaped inlays of ebony with padouk and holly trim wood inlays, bottom edge of the cuff with repetitive small diamond/brick-shaped inlay trim.
In the style of Jean Joseph Chapuis, perhaps from the surrounding area.
Southern Netherlands / Belgium, Brussels ca 1775-1810
Dimensions;
H = 78.5 cm
W = 81 cm
D = 41 cm
Recently thoroughly checked for loose parts of construction and veneer color and sheen.
No live woodworm found as of 22/2/2026
