Large Antique Hand-Painted Delft / Dutch Faience Lidded Vase
Netherlands, 19th century

Large and impressive antique lidded vase made of earthenware (faience), produced in the Netherlands in the 19th century, inspired by Chinese Imari porcelain.

The vase is richly hand-painted in traditional Imari-style colours (cobalt blue, iron red and green) with finely detailed decorative panels depicting:
• Exotic birds (phoenix-like birds),
• Floral ornaments,
• Landscape scenes with pagodas and bridges,
• Stylised scrolling motifs and cartouches.

The lid is crowned with a sculptural finial in the form of a seated animal, also hand-painted, which is a characteristic decorative element of high-quality Dutch faience of the period.

The decoration is entirely hand-painted, showing slight variations in brushwork, typical and desirable for authentic 19th-century produc
