Description from the seller
Some time ago, Jura Distillery, launched a special edition whisky in the US -more specifically in New York. The Jura Brooklyn was born out of a project started the year before. In 2013 the Jura master distiller, Mr. Willie Tait, visited A dozen establishments in Brooklyn. The aim was to create a scotch whisky chosen by and for the people of Brooklyn. He brought six Jura cask samples on his journey, and eventually settled on the final profile based on tastings held "over there".
The Jura Brooklyn has been matured in American White Oak bourbon casks, before being finished in Amoroso Sherry and Pinot Noir casks. The spirit is up to 16 years old, no idea how young the youngest components are.
Nose : Vanilla, camphor, light berries and hints of grapes. Lightly peated, malty, and sugary. The fruitiness and the berries come through more and more. It is a delightful nose.
Taste : Pepper, more peat now, but still sweet with vanilla and berries - blackberries mainly.
Finish : It does change quite a bit on the finish, becoming more spicy, almost a bit intense. The finish is on the short side of medium long.
