The names Doublé, in English 'rolled gold', in Dutch 'gewalst goud', and in French 'laminé', were legally protected by the Reichsgericht ruling of 21 December 1923; it may not be used for goods whose gold plating is produced by a different process, for example galvanic gold plating.
In 1900, double gold "Doublé" was reintroduced using a new process; first two tombac plates were pressed together, followed by a silver layer, after which two more thin gold layers were pressed on.
The pressed plates were then sent to ateliers to be used for the manufacture of jewelry.
The jewelry was then beautifully polished, with a guarantee that its golden shine would last a lifetime—witness this necklace!
Jewelry of this quality is nowadays still rarely found!

Photos have been enlarged; please check the specifications for dimensions.
The necklace is lightly cleaned before shipping and sent in a gift box, registered and insured, with Track and Trace.
Customs costs are for the buyer's expenses.
