AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Collection of 4 of the 4 brooches.
Amethyst/Silver brooch
Silver brooch from the 19th century with a central stone “Amethyst” which seems to have been replaced as it was lost over time.
Weight: 23 g.
Dimensions: Length 8.5 cm / width 4 cm.
Shape: rectangular

History and provenance
The collection of no. 4 brooches was part of the collection of the wife of the Cavaliere del Lavoro Mr. Monti, who had a country estate in Bertinoro, a municipality in the province of Forlì-Cesena in Emilia-Romagna (Italy).
The villa takes its name from his wife.
My grandaunt named Preziosa, who served at the villa, over the years formed a sincere bond of friendship with the Monti family, in particular with the wife who, before her death, gave her the collection of brooches which, subsequently, the grandaunt passed on to me.
The Monti family would stay (one of many holiday places) in Asiago (Vicenza, Italy) at the Hotel Croce Bianca frequented by famous stars from all over the world.
They also had a house on Via Corso Trieste in Rome (Italy), near the home of the famous tenor Beniamino Gigli.
... Beniamino Gigli (historical data: Recanati, March 20, 1890 – Rome, November 30, 1957) was an Italian tenor and actor, one of the most famous opera singers of the 20th century.
In Bertinoro, at Mr. Monti’s property, Gioacchino Murat (French: Joachim Murat), a French general, Duke of Berg and Clèves (reigned 1806-1808) and King of Naples (reigned 1808-1815) and Marshal of the Empire with Napoleon Bonaparte, also passed through.

With this lifestyle, elegant clothes and important meetings, the brooches were used to adorn the garments worn, either in their simple use or, the brooch was intended to be applied to evening dresses, with two hooks, or alternatively, attached to the central part of the evening bag (a brooch with diamond rosettes, or amethyst brooch, or brooch with the figure of a “trombettiere”), thus adding a touch of elegance and femininity to the outfit.
Today, they could also be used as hair accessories/ hair clips.
This is the story of the brooches’ lived experience and the tale of Aunt Priscilla.
