A rat-tail candlestick in gilded bronze with cloisonné polychrome enamels, dating to 1850–1900, from France, in good condition with minor age-related wear, measuring 7 cm high, 18 cm wide and 9 cm deep.

Rat-tail candlestick in gilded bronze and cloisonné enamels, Japonism, Napoléon III period, 19th century.
Antique object from the late 19th century, handheld candlestick nicknamed "rat-tail" in gilded bronze, richly decorated with polychrome cloisonné enamels in the Japanese taste (Japonisme), from the Napoleon III era.
Plateau with undulating contours resting on four small feet, a polished mirrored center, and a central candle holder. A long perforated handle allowing the light to be carried into the rooms before electricity.
Floral and ornamental décor in enamel blue, turquoise, green, and red.
Beautiful decorative and collectible item.
Overall good condition. Please note a small, old crack at the junction of the handle, with no play or fragility. See the photos; they are part of the description.
