Lunga storia alle spalle per questo simpaticissimo omino scelto dalla Michelin per rappresentarla e distinguerla dai suoi concorrenti, il Bidendum ha subito diversi cambiamenti estetici da quando fu inventato nel lontano 1898 da Edouard Michelin, dopo che lo stesso nel 1894 all'esposizione Universale e Coloniale di Lione, nel vedere una pila di pneumatici impilati artisticamente pensò "con un paio di braccia in più sembrerebbe un omino", questa frase fu l'abracadabra che fece nascere appunto l'omino Michelin fino ad arrivare ai giorni nostri ancora intatto nel suo splendore e sempre molto amato ed apprezzato dagli amanti del genere e dai collezionisti

Questa è un'autentica statuetta/figurina pubblicitaria Michelin che veniva consegnata come gadget ai rivenditori autorizzati Michelin, questo tipo di gadget era più grande rispetto ai classici gadget che circolavano all'epoca, nuova mai utilizzata ancora nella sua scatola originale, la statuetta è fatta in resina/poliestere e finemente dipinta a mano con una bellissima finitura a smalto lucido, la sottobase è in tessuto vellutato di colore bleu
