Description from the seller
Art Deco Silver-Plated Bowl, 1920s
Striking original Art Deco bowl from the 1920s, executed in heavy silver-plated brass and standing on elegant sculptural feet. The dynamic, asymmetrical rim and stylised floral handles are characteristic of high-quality European Art Deco metalware of the interwar period.
This is a true decorative centrepiece with strong sculptural presence. The bowl has developed a deep, naturally aged dark patina over time, giving it an authentic, museum-like appearance that collectors of original Art Deco objects highly appreciate. The substantial weight underlines the solid quality and craftsmanship.
Perfect as a display bowl, centrepiece, or for refined interior styling in both classic and modern settings.
During the 1920s, Art Deco designers moved away from flowing Jugendstil forms towards more stylised, sculptural and symmetrical compositions. Silver-plated tableware and decorative objects from this period were often produced for high-end interiors, combining functionality with pronounced architectural presence. Pieces of this type were typical of the luxury dining and salon culture of the interwar years.
