Frisian silver tea canister – Harlingen – circa 1798–1805

Pull-out bottom!
Rectangular Frisian silver tea caddy from the late 18th century, richly decorated with deeply engraved floral motifs and an oval portrait medallion on the front. It stands on four bun feet and is equipped with a well-functioning sliding base, a characteristic Frisian detail.

The piece bears the city mark of Harlingen (seahorse) and a fiscal tax mark for unassayed silver of national origin, used in the Batavian period.

Dimensions: approx. 8 × 5 × 13 cm
Weight: approx. 160 grams

Condition: good condition, with normal signs of use and aging appropriate for the age.
