Description from the seller
Set of 3 Austrian Alps hand-carved wooden wall panels – Tyrol – high relief –
Description
A decorative set of three Austrian Alpine wall panels from the mid-20th century, likely produced in the Tyrol region (circa 1930–1955).
One of the panels contains a carved place name, which points to regional production for the Alpine tourist market — a characteristic detail of Austrian workshop woodcarving from this period.
Each panel is executed in deep high relief and depicts traditional Alpine performances:
• Mountain village with chalets and a mountain massif
• River landscape with architectural elements
• Hunting still life with rifle and game motif
The edges are richly decorated with leaf and rocaille ornaments, which create pronounced depth and shadows.
The carving work was produced in a workshop and finished by hand, typical of high-quality Austrian decorative woodcarving from the mid-20th century.
Origin
Austria – probably the Tyrol region
Period
Circa 1930–1955
Material
Solid sawn wood
Condition
• Good structural condition
• Normal signs of wear appropriate to age
• Hanging facility available
• No visible large cracks or missing parts
