Lucantonio Giunta - Antiphonal Leaf from the 1500s - Gregorian Chants - 1500

Two sheets (four pages) from an antiphonary printed in the early 16th century by the Florentine printer Lucantonio Giunta. The paper is thick, clean, and shows no signs of moisture; only in one corner is there a very slight yellowing due to centuries of human handling. The Gothic characters in black and red ink are still very sharp. The sheets have wide margins and the edges are regular (not frayed).

There are four initials in red ink.

The sheets come from an antiphonary which, unfortunately, has been dismembered due to the poor condition of the binding and the absence of numerous pages.
