Wonderful antique römer / rummer, 17th/18th century, Netherlands or Germany.
A beautiful and rare römer with a calyx, the foot ornamented with attached discs and a raised spiral.
Medieval glass in greenish glass. The foot is ornamented with drop-shaped medallions and a raised spiral in relief. It opens onto a wide rounded cup, finely adorned with vertical relief waves.
The calyx contains minuscule air bubbles, called “seeds,” and a kind of “mist” inside the cup.
Ridged glass thread under the calyx.
The stem is entirely decorated with a garland and attached beaded medallions.
Height 12.4 cm. Foot diameter 6.8 cm
Origin: Netherlands or Germany
Color: Light green, slightly tinted green.
