Vintage Japanese tin tea caddy (Chazutsu) dating from 1970–1980, made of pure tin with horizontal lathe-turned lines, approximately 9 cm high, 8 cm wide and 8 cm deep, silver, with a maker’s stamp on the underside, in good condition with minor signs of ageing, and accompanied by its original wooden storage box and protective pouch.

Japanese tin tea caddy (Chazutsu), traditionally used for storing high-quality tea leaves.
This finely crafted tea container is made of tin and features elegant horizontal lathe-turned lines across the surface, creating a refined and modern aesthetic while maintaining traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Tin is highly valued in Japan for its ability to preserve tea freshness by protecting against humidity.
The underside bears a maker’s stamp. The piece comes with its original wooden storage box and protective pouch.
