Description from the seller
Niccolò Caussin
La Corte Santa – Complete edition in three parts Bologna, 1652
Ownership signature.
Famous work of spirituality and Christian morality, printed in Bologna in 1652 for Carlo Zenero.
The exemplar is complete with the three original parts, an item of particular collectible relevance, as many copies on the market are incomplete or lacking one or more sections.
The work, among the most widespread texts of Jesuit spirituality of the 17th century, offers a moral reflection aimed at religious formation and Christian life in the society of the time, and represents a significant example of Bologna’s 17th-century typographic production.
cm 7.7 x 14.5, pp. (24), 1029.
Exemplar of great historical charm, suitable for collectors of old books, theology scholars and enthusiasts of 17th-century editions.
The volume presents itself in contemporary parchment binding, with handwritten titling on the spine. The paper appears naturally browned with time, but overall well preserved and legible. There are signs of use compatible with the age of the work. Small loss to the spine (see photo).
