Description from the seller
GINORI XIX SECOLO – RENAISSANCE PARADE PLATE OF GREAT IMPACT
Important parade plate in polychrome maiolica from the renowned Ginori manufactory, datable to the 19th century.
Diameter 31.5 cm – height 4.5 cm.
A specimen of strong stage presence, molded with elegant radial folds that create a refined three-dimensional play of light and shadow. The edge is adorned with a continuous sequence of raised pearls painted cobalt blue, a Renaissance-inspired decorative element that frames the entire composition with great balance.
The decoration, entirely handmade, is inspired by the “grotesque” motifs of sixteenth-century origin: fantastic winged figures with anthropomorphic faces, sinuous floral sprays, ribbons, medallions, and small ornamental elements alternated in a perfect rhythmic progression.
In the center, within a double circular reserve with ochre and blue trimming, dominates an elegant stylized zoomorphic motif, rendered with extraordinary graphic ease and painterly finesse.
Notable the quality of execution: thin and confident outlines, detailed plumage, warm ochre shades, harmonious contrasts with deep blue and verdigris green. The overall result is a cultivated, balanced composition typical of nineteenth-century Ginori production inspired by Italian Renaissance tradition.
On the back there is the blue-painted mark “Ginori” surmounted by a crown with the number “4-455”, consistent with historical productions of the manufactory in the 19th century.
The work comes from an important private collection housed in an ancient Florentine historic residence, a context that further enhances its prestige and historical-artistic coherence.
Condition: very good considering its age. Only a few slight chips at the foot of the base, visible in the photos, which do not compromise stability, structure, or the visual harmony of the object. Glossy glaze, vivid colors, no cracks running through.
Particularly impactful decorative plate, ideal for wall display or on a prestigious sideboard, capable of enhancing classical interiors and collections of fine Italian ceramic ware.
Photos are an integral part of the description. Guaranteed careful packaging entrusted to industry professionals.
