Indochinite - Height: 2 cm - Width: 6 cm - 21.6 g

The Indochinites were expelled into the upper Earth’s atmosphere by a gigantic meteorite impact 788,000 years ago in the Gulf of Tonkin (Vietnam). The steam jets cooled in the upper atmosphere and condensed to form this type of glass. The pieces rained down hundreds to thousands of kilometers away from the impact, to the southeast, reaching the Philippines and even Australia. They have different shapes and a characteristic black color.
This specimen is offered in its raw, unpolished condition. A small amount of the original soil dust remains on the surface and in the interstices.
