Description from the seller
Rare tea and coffee service in Art Deco style Aug. Dannhauer Genève cast brass – Swiss-made
* Manufacturer: Auguste Dannhauer (boilermaker)
* Origin: Geneva, Switzerland
* Period: Art Deco / Arts & Crafts (circa 1920s)
* Material: Hand-cast brass (Martelé) with handles wrapped in wicker
* Service includes: coffee pot, teapot, and sugar bowl
Detailed description: We present a stunning, 3-piece brass set by the renowned Swiss copper master, Auguste Dannhauer. Working in Geneva, Dannhauer was a master of organic forms and hand metalworking, known for teaching masters such as Jean Dunand.
The set is characterized by his distinctive wave pattern and exquisite, hand-cast texture. The handles are traditionally wrapped in wicker to provide insulation — a feature typical of high-quality European brass wares from this period. The set is in very good vintage condition with a beautiful natural patina. The wicker-wrapped handles remain intact (see photos). The interior shows signs of use appropriate to age.
