Rosenthal - Tea service - Bone - Else

Vintage Rosenthal “Else” Porcelain Coffee Service, Blaue Stunde Paradiesvogel Decoration, Kronach Germany, circa 1930s This elegant Rosenthal porcelain coffee set features the rare “Blaue Stunde Paradiesvogel” (Blue Hour Paradise Bird) pattern, also known as the blue paradise bird or pheasant motif. Produced at the Rosenthal Kronach factory in Bavaria, Germany, during the 1930s in the classic Art Deco style. The design showcases hand-painted deep cobalt blue (echt Kobalt) with a striking large paradise bird (pheasant-like with long tail and wings), surrounded by floral elements, leaves, and delicate gold rim accents. Bottom marks: R.C. Rosenthal Kronach-Germany ELSE, model number 3038 (some pieces marked “28”). Set for 6 persons (approximately 21 pieces total): • 1 large coffeepot • 1 sugar bowl with lid • 1 creamer / milk jug • 6 cups with matching saucers • 6 dessert plates Cup size note: The cups are petite vintage demi-tasse style, with a capacity of approximately 80–100 ml each — authentic and typical for the 1930s Rosenthal “Else” form, ideal for refined tea or after-dinner coffee servings. Condition: Excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, or restoration. Only minor, expected light wear to the gold rims from age and gentle use (over 90 years old). Preserved in a smoke-free private collection — very well-kept overall. A highly collectible and decorative piece of German porcelain history, sought after by enthusiasts of Art Deco ceramics, cobalt blue hand-painted designs, and complete vintage services. Similar sets and individual pieces from this rare decor frequently appear in collector markets and auctions. Detailed photos included: full set overview, individual items, close-ups of the paradise bird motif, gold detailing, and all bottom marks for authenticity and condition assessment. Shipping: Professionally packed with extensive bubble wrap, foam protection, and double boxing to ensure safe arrival. Tracked and fully insured shipping is highly recommended due to fragility. Buyer covers shipping costs (calculated by destination). Feel free to ask any questions or request additional photos/measurements!
