Mecki the Hedgehog is the mascot of the German magazine Hörzu. This is a first production from the early 1950s, identified by the harder face material, felt shoe soles, and the early design characteristics. The doll features a hand-painted face, mohair hair and chest fur, and the original outfit consisting of a red, orange, and white checkered shirt, grey pants with red and blue patches, a string belt, and black shoes with felt bottoms. The original ID button and paper tags are missing, but the construction and materials correspond to Steiff production from the 1950s. Condition: Nice vintage condition with some wear. Some loss of hair on the head, cracks to the face, and wear to the nose. Light staining on the clothing. The left foot feels slightly loose but remains attached. Overall looks very nice.
