Egermann crystal green hand-formed bowl from Czechia, dating to 1960–1970, in as new condition, dimensions 23 cm high, 45 cm deep, 25 cm wide, weight 3.8 kg.
Description from the seller
Offered for auction is a monumental sculptural glass bowl by the renowned Czech glassmaker Egermann, an outstanding example of traditional Bohemian hot-worked crystal at its finest.
This impressive piece is hand-formed directly from molten glass at high temperature, shaped freely without the use of molds. Its organic, flowing form with dynamic protruding arms gives the bowl a powerful sculptural presence, reminiscent of natural structures such as petals, flames, or coral formations. From every angle, the piece reveals a different line, reflection, and play of light.
The glass features a rich emerald-green coloration smoothly transitioning into clear crystal, creating vivid luminous reflections and emphasizing the true hutní (hot-worked) character of the glass. Light passes through the thick walls and gathers in deeper tones at the curves, giving the object exceptional visual depth. Thanks to its substantial weight and massive construction, the bowl feels exceptionally stable, valuable, and highly representative.
Each piece is a unique original. Minor variations in shape, internal structure, and color flow are natural and desirable characteristics of authentic handmade glass and clear proof of its craftsmanship.
With dimensions of approximately 45 × 25 cm, this object is perfectly suited as:
• a luxury fruit bowl
• a centerpiece for a dining or conference table
• or a stand-alone collector’s sculpture
Egermann glass carries the historic legacy of Friedrich Egermann (1777–1864), one of the most influential figures in Bohemian glass history. For generations, the Egermann name has stood for innovation, artistic mastery, and international prestige. Today, original hot-worked Egermann pieces of this scale and quality are becoming increasingly rare.
