Description from the seller
Antique Indian silver ring with Turquoise and Coral – Traditional craftsmanship, an important piece
Magnificent antique silver ring of Indian manufacture, characterized by artisanal workmanship richly chased and by an important composition of natural stones set.
The front, large and arched rectangular shape, features at the center a natural oval Turquoise cabochon, framed by a refined knotwork. Around it, an elegant raised floral decoration in relief crafted by chasing gives depth and movement to the surface.
The upper and lower rims are embellished with elements in natural Red Coral, cut into small cylindrical segments, creating a strong chromatic contrast with the blue of the turquoise and the patina of the antique silver.
On the sides and in the ring’s structure there is further inlay work with crushed Turquoise (mosaic / inlay) and inserts of Red Coral, typical of traditional craftsmanship of the Indo-Himalayan area.
The ring features:
- Solid silver handcrafted
- Central natural Turquoise (cabochon cut)
- Natural Red Coral
- Lateral inlays in Turquoise and Coral
- Visible patina consistent with age
- Substantial and adjustable back structure
A jewelry piece of great aesthetic impact, typical of Indian ethnic tradition, probably dating from the mid-20th century, ideal for collectors of tribal jewelry or for those who love unique and scenographic pieces.
Conditions good for age, with normal signs of time that attest to its authenticity and history.
