Description from the seller
Elegant oak plant stand – Netherlands, ca. 1900–1920
This refined plant stand made of solid oak wood was manufactured in the Netherlands and dates from the period circa 1900–1920. The design shows features of late Jugendstil and early Art Deco, with a subtle transition from graceful lines to a more geometric form.
The table has a slender, tall appearance and stands firmly on four slightly outward-angled legs. The round top is beautifully profiled and rests on an elegant, turned stem. The lower shelf forms a harmonious whole with the construction and is carried by gracefully curved connecting pieces. These ornamental elements give the piece character and refinement, while also contributing to its stability. One of these connecting pieces has been repaired in the past (see photos).
