Description from the seller

Norwegian Pewter Spirit Flask / Carafe - Brødrene Mylius

This pewter flask was produced in Norway by Brødrene Mylius (B.M. Tinn) during the mid-20th century in a beautiful Design. It is traditionally known as a "Brennevinsflinke" or a Spirit Flask/Decanter.

The piece features a circular, flat-sided "pilgrim flask" shape, a traditional Norwegian shape with Mid-century Modern lines.
It is decorated with an engraved rooster on the front and an inscription on the reverse. The flask stands on four round feet and features a stopper with its original cork.

The reverse side carries a Norwegian inscription: "PÅ 50 ÅRS-DAGEN / 28-4-57 / FRA ARBEIDSKAMERATER". This translates to: "On the 50th birthday / 28-4-57 / From work colleagues".

The base of the foot is stamped with the manufacturer's mark: "B.M. TINN NORGE," "Made in Norway," and the model number "602/3".

The structure consists of a shiny pewter body with circular ribbing. A flat-curved handle connects the shoulder to the body, and a short pouring spout.
This design represents a 1950s interpretation of historic Scandinavian vessel shapes with decorative folk-art elements like the rooster.

Height: 18 cm
Width: 17.5 cm (including spout and handle)
Depth: 6 cm
Net Weight: 671 g

Condition:
