Bronze - Brooch - Line Vautrin The Cavalier

I offer, with no reserve, this remarkable brooch in gilded bronze, "the Rider", signed Line Vautrin, born April 28, 1913 and died April 12, 1997 in Paris.

A major artist of 20th-century decorative arts, she began creating her first jewelry at age 21.
In 1937, she participated in the Universal Exhibition, where her jewelry enchanted with their originality and refinement. This recognition launched her career.

This brooch corresponds to the period when Line Vautrin ran her famous boutique, a small shop located on Rue de Berri.
This model illustrates the artist's aesthetics. It depicts a stylized rider on his mount, a motif imbued with poetry and mythology. Her jewelry is regarded as artwork in its own right.
