Spice container - Brass, Copper - Betel Nut Box
This nice betel nut box was purchased in Afghanistan in the 1970's in the current condition.
It is certainly from around the turn of the 19th century, but it may be slightly older.
The brass has a reddish tint and a nice dark patina from use and polishing. There are certainly signs of age and weathering but is sturdy and in good condition.
The box comes from a private collection of Afghan ethnographic art and traditional items.
It is 13 cm high and 20 cm diameter and has a heavy sturdy feel when lifted.
This item will be carefully packed and shipped with insurance.
