Beautiful carved and gilded wooden frame, Rocaille decoration in Louis XV style: acanthus leaves, volutes and raised floral motifs. Traditional gilding on red bole, with an original patina and wear consistent with age.

The frame features a rare square format of 76 × 76 cm, highly sought after for framing a mirror, a portrait or a contemporary canvas.
The back is original, with keyed joints and workshop inscriptions visible.
