Commemorative silver coin minted by Australia to celebrate the opening of Parliament in Canberra in 1927. The obverse features the crowned portrait of George V looking to the left, with the full imperial inscription. The reverse shows an elaborate composition with the Parliament Building framed in an ornamental cartouche, accompanied by the value ONE FLORIN and the date highlighted in a central oval. A piece of great artistic quality and strong historical symbolism, with well-defined reliefs, attractive silver tone, and a soft patina, considered one of the most emblematic commemorative issues of Australian coinage in the 20th century.
