Wooden Jugendstil document box from the 1850–1900 period, originating in the Netherlands, with dimensions 28 cm wide, 18 cm deep and 14.5 cm high, in good used condition with minor signs of aging and spots.
Description from the seller
Beautiful Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) trunk from the early 20th century, executed in dark stained wood with a striking visible grain structure. The sober, geometric design is stylishly accented by original brass fittings, including hinges and a decorative locking plate with a keyhole. Typical Jugendstil: functional, elegant, and with an eye for detail.
The chest rests on light splayed legs and has a solid construction. The interior is neatly finished in warm wood and is in good, clean condition. Ideal as a jewelry chest, document chest, or decorative object on a desk, sideboard, or display cabinet. Traces of age and use are present and contribute to the authentic look.
A characterful object for lovers of Jugendstil, Art Nouveau, and early 20th-century interior art.
