Carved walnut sofa dating from circa 1900, upholstered in a premium blue textile with a traditional yet versatile style, dimensions 215 cm wide, 90 cm high and 53 cm deep, originating from Italy and in good condition with minor age-related wear.
Description from the seller
19th-century carved walnut sofa. The sofa, or bench, has been completely reupholstered with a new high-quality fabric. The chosen fabric allows this piece of furniture to be placed in both traditional and more modern, contemporary settings, making it very versatile and suitable for different environments and styles. It fits well indoors as well as outdoors, for example in a porch area, perhaps in a seaside location.
What makes it unique is the fabric used, which can be defined and regarded as the flagship and excellence of craftsmanship, first Florentine and then Italian. It is specifically a honeycomb fabric woven on a semi-mechanical loom in silk and cotton in shades of azure. As can be seen from the photos, the upholstery work has been finished to the smallest detail, attending to every aspect, from the seat cover, in tone with the fabric, to the piping that finishes the underside of the side cushions. The wooden details enrich the furniture piece; the floral decoration on the backrest is very beautiful, as is the decoration on the legs.
