Dha traditional Burmese sabre from Myanmar, made of bamboo, in reasonably good condition, dating to 1970–1980, total length 80 cm.

Ancient Burmese Dha – Traditional Myanmar sabre – Bamboo and brass – approx. 93 cm – 20th century
Description
Traditional Burmese sabre called the Dha, originating from Myanmar (formerly Burma), dating from the early to mid-20th century.
Features:
• One-edged steel blade, slightly curved
• Small simple circular metal guard
• Cylindrical bamboo handle with metal ferrule
• Copper alloy pommel with stylized decoration
• Matching bamboo scabbard with bindings of plant fibers
• Ancient braided thong
Dimensions (measured from the photo):
• Total length without scabbard: approx. 70 cm
• Blade length: approx. 38 cm
• Scabbard length: approx. 45 cm
Condition:
The blade shows signs of use and old sharpening marks.
The bamboo scabbard shows a crack at the tip and visible signs of aging.
Uniform old patina on the metal parts.
Coherent and authentic overall.
Typical Southeast Asian sabre, sought after in collections of ethnic weapons and traditional weapons.
