Description from the seller
Kate Moss, absolute icon of the nineties.
A portrait taken in the State of New York, for a report published in VOGUE.
This portrait that Peter Lindbergh created of the young Briton in July 1994 is the symbol of the photographer's style, the fashion photograph “unretouched.”
That July day in 1994 when she posed in overalls, the young Briton is 20 years old and already five years of a career behind her. “She is neither tall nor beautiful by conventional standards, but why should she be?” would be said later by Peter Lindbergh. “She is the coolest person in the world.”
Prepress black-and-white print on RC Satin photo paper.
Medium resolution, archive digital print. Later print versions 2008/2009.
Format: 27.1 x 20.3 cm, with margins.
Label and annotations on the verso
Photo credit printed in the lower margin.
In very good overall condition.
Presented on a 30 x 24 cm card.
Peter Lindbergh was a German photographer and filmmaker (1944-2019)
among the most acclaimed in international fashion. He photographed in black and white using a pictorial language inspired by the early days of German cinema and the free-dance of the 1920s.
