Helmut Newton (1920-2004) was one of the most influential photographers of all time. In the 1970s he acquired international fame by mainly working for the French Vogue. He was renowned for his controversial scenarios, bold lighting and striking compositions in public or private settings, rather than in a Studio. He acquired many honorary titles and awards including Commandeur de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres.

Helmut Newton is one of the best photographers of the 20th as Henri Cartier-Bresson, Oliviero Toscani, Robert Mapplethorpe, Philippe Halsman, Elliott Erwitt, Annie Leibovitz or Robert Capa, he was considered an icon of 20th century culture like Andy Warhol, Basquiat, Roy Lichtenstein, Jeff Koons or Banksy.
