Set of 2 Amsterdam School chairs – ca. 1915–1930 – wood & leather – original copper nails – carved decorations
Description
Beautiful set of two original Amsterdam School chairs, produced between ca. 1915 and 1930.
The chairs show all the typical design elements of this period:
geometric back spindles
one chair with carved cloverleaf ornament, typical for religious and school interiors from the period
e
one chair with floral ornament in the upper rail
original leather back and seat panels
copper decorative nails
warm patina of the wood
This combination – two different variants from the same period – is very decorative and sought after by collectors of Amsterdam School and Hague School furniture.
Condition:
Sturdy construction, no loose joints.
Original leather present; on one chair the seating area shows clear wear/discoloration.
Wood with signs of aging appropriate to the age.
No cracks or missing parts.
Nice set to use as is or to lightly restore. Remains very decorative due to the authentic finish and the carved woodwork.
