Steel Space Age arc lamp from circa 1970–1980, in silver, 50 cm wide, 50 cm high, 18 cm deep, weighing 1.5 kg, with one fitting and a design style; used condition with probable small missing parts, in working order.
Description from the seller
Steel Arc lamp with probable brass anodizing (residual traces).
It works perfectly and the lever has two positions for high and low intensity. It takes a bi-pin halogen bulb.
This model is almost certainly a production of Massive (Belgium) or an Italian company such as Reggiani or Lustrerie De Meestere, dating from the mid-1970s.
Often this specific model is attributed to the Goffredo Reggiani school or described as high-quality anonymous design from the Space Age period.
It is a desk variant of the famous Arc lamp by the Castiglioni brothers, reinterpreted with the spherical forms typical of the 1970s.
On the plug there is the NDS mark: It is typically found on plugs produced in Europe (often in Belgium or Italy) between the 1970s and 1980s. It is a technical mark that certified electrical conformity.
Space Age, polished steel (or steel with a galvanic coating). The double dome (base and shade identical) is a geometric touch of class typical of European design of that decade.
A small washer is missing from the switch mounting.
