Polish folk doll set – “Dożynki” (Harvest Festival) – Cepelia – Kraków – c. 1950–1980
Beautiful and authentic Polish folk doll set themed around “Dożynki,” the traditional Polish harvest festival. This handmade set was produced by a Polish arts-and-crafts cooperative in Kraków and is a fine example of Central European folk art from the second half of the 20th century.
The composition depicts a lively scene of the harvest festival, with figures in traditional dress, richly detailed fabrics, straw elements and colorful ribbons. The set is mounted on a wooden base and bears the original label on the underside.
Condition of the object
• As far as visible, the set is complete.
• The dolls are generally in very good condition.
• For 2 dolls, the attachment to one leg/foot has come loose from the base.
• This concerns only the attachment at the foot; the dolls themselves are otherwise intact and in very good condition.
• No obvious damage to clothing or heads visible.
