Description from the seller

An embossed and chased pewter vase, in the Art Nouveau style, attributed to Lucien Houzeaux, a designer active at the beginning of the 20th century, known for his metalwork inspired by naturalism.

The body is adorned with a substantial high-relief floral decoration, depicting a blooming rose surrounded by foliage, treated with finesse and depth.
The decoration is complemented by stylized geometric friezes, characteristic of the Art Nouveau aesthetic.
The slightly flared neck features a wavy rim.

The base bears several pewter hallmarks as well as a handwritten inscription “L. Houzeaux,” visible in the photographs, confirming the attribution.

A beautiful decorative piece, representative of French know-how in art pewter at the turn of the century.
