Western Asia, Persia, circa the 9th century CE.
Islamic epigraphic cup in cream-slip ceramic, decorated with green bands and a linear Kufic inscription.
This plate with a minimalistic design is a fine example of Abbasid art, which produced glazed ceramics in the Islamic lands between the 9th and 13th centuries.
Near East, Abbasid dynasty, 9th century CE.
Dimensions: diameter 19.8 cm, height 6.2 cm - Good condition - restoration
Provenance: France, Etude P.C.T.
Previously: former French collection of Islamic art
