Capri, oil on canvas in the impressionist style, depicting Capri, signed, created in 1995 in Italy, original edition, in good condition, sold with a wooden frame.
Description from the seller
View, oil on canvas, of Capri by the Italian artist Silveri. It is a replica of Capri Vista II by the American painter Peter Bell, highly appreciated and recognized for his reproductions of Italian and European seascapes: a vibrant and idyllic blend.
The replica is perfectly executed, enhanced by a frame in precious wood, handmade and finished in plaster and gold plated (the value of the frame alone is estimated at about €200).
The classic frame contrasts with the modern style of the brushwork, identifiable as ethereal impressionism or rustic style, where the vibrant, tactile brushstrokes of the depicted objects sit beside the straighter, smoother brushstrokes of the sea, a typically dynamic element deliberately left calm relative to the rest to attribute to it a salvific and central function in the painting just as in Bell's style.
Purchased by the painter Silveri in Agrigento in the 1990s, directly in his studio.
With the frame the dimensions are 110x140x5 cm.
