A Dutch-made Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) cabinet from circa 1910–1920, crafted in oak, 2 m high, 1.30 m wide and 55 cm deep, with lockable doors and drawers and included keys, in good used condition with minor signs of aging and spots.
Description from the seller
The cabinet combines elements of the Art Deco and Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) period. The clean lines and geometric inlays on the doors are typical of the transition to Art Deco, while the decorative arches and glasswork may still show influences of Jugendstil. Early 1900s/1910s. A cabinet about 120 years old. Such cabinets are often made of solid oak and fitted with brass hardware. The design consists of a lower cabinet with doors and drawers and an upper cabinet (pedestal) with a facet-cut mirror and the glass in the doors. It stands independently from each other. All in good condition. Keys are present for the drawers and doors. There may be minor restorations to the cabinet.
The latest photos show that. A small piece of black wood, a hairline crack in the lower-left door (front barely visible). A piece of wood on the back of the leg, the plank on top + the side extension re-glued. Small repairs if you want the cabinet perfectly restored. The mirror has some patina.
For an Art Nouveau enthusiast, a beautiful cabinet.
