Description from the seller
Author: Julien Green (1900–1998), born Julian Hartridge Green in Paris to American parents, is an American writer of French expression. He was the first foreigner elected to the Académie Française (1971) and one of the few authors published in the Bibliothèque de la Pléiade during his lifetime.
Julien Green is one of the major writers of the 20th century, a singular figure because of his Franco-American identity, his work marked by spirituality, desire, guilt, and especially by his immense Journal, one of the most important in modern literature.
